Writing and directing are passions difficult to separate, although I love directing films others write, and visa versa.
Collaboration is Discovery.
It all began when, after a 10-year, successful career as a journalist in South Africa, I came to the USA to study to be a filmmaker at top 10-rated film school, Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media arts, and earned a dual MFA in Screenwriting and Directing.
I moved to Los Angeles before graduating, and my thesis film ONE MORE DAY won the DGA Student Jury Award for women filmmakers. I soon secured a manager, signed my first feature film screenwriting contract, and began directing advertising content for brands such as Chevy, 3M and Lux, and also write the comic book series ZANA, available through Emet Comics. Zana was nominated for a 2016 Dwayne McDuffie Award.
I work out of Los Angeles on an “Alien of Extraordinary Ability” Visa, also known as the “O1 Visa” or “Artist Visa”, which allows me to work as a writer, director and a few closely related roles.
